Fulmar's Precipice
Surrounded by the invasive Hottentot-fig, these fulmars stake their claim to the cliffside year after year, successfully nesting amongst the sprawling vegetation.
Fulmars return to the same nesting ledges year after year, forming long-term pair bonds that can last for decades. To avoid disturbing this pair as they reoccupied their nesting ledge, I photographed them from a considerable distance using a long lens, allowing them to continue their natural behaviour undisturbed.
